I think this is a great book for any writer who wants to improve his craft. Read more like that. I did find a lot of the helpful hints repetitive in that I’ve read them in other booksbut I guess good advice gets repeated.

Personification, symbolism, allusion and even onomatopoeia! If you’re serious about becoming a writer and you’ve already begun the journey, then this is one for the collection. You can find all the answers you need in Write Great Fiction: The tools, the lessons of observation, the re-reading until it says what you want the reader to feelall make segting editing process profitable and necessary. To add insult to injury, the aforesaid sentence is awkward in construction.
Deals thoroughly with the topic, reads smoothly. The differences between parenthesis and dashes, colons and semicolons, cadence and repetition. But once again, both books wer I have both this version and also the older Elements of Fiction writing book on ‘Setting’ by Bickham.

More than that, the book provides a lot of inspiration and handy tips for aspiring writers. Writing good description is tricky in fiction. It covers literary devices such as personification, symbolism, allusions, analogies, similes, and metaphors, including adverbs, adjectives, and punctuation.
I’ve been working my way through the “Write Rozellle Fiction” series. Writer’s Digest Books March 15, Language: Customers who bought this item also bought. This book was a slog to get through, and apparently I’ve already read it once before, but it was so forgettable, I didn’t remember ever reading it. I’ve always struggled with description, barely even bother with it when I am writing which is weird because I write in a genre where you kind of need it.

Rozellee your setting and description to help move your story along. There’s even a section where Rozelle gives a brief and unfortunately in some of the settimg cases, very brief overview of how the setting and use of description would work for each descriptjon. This book is a very useful resource for beginning writers. Points you will want to consider with your title, first sentence, first paragraph and first page. While reading this books, I discovered that description and setting isn’t just about what things look like. Chapter 2 which advises on how to be pay attention contains a full-page account of the author’s trip to Ellis island [page 20] — I skipped it after reading the first sentence.
I want to get something published, preferably as a eBook on Amazon to get my name out there and slowly build upon that. Even though I’m a beginner in fiction writing, I only learned a few things from this book.
